Organic Rosehip

Why Rosehip Oil in Skincare

Rosehip is a current favourite of mine and is being heralded as natures retinol*. Packed full of vitamin A this deep crimson oil helps to promote cell turn over, boost collagen and regulates sebum. Making it your perfect ally in the fight against acne, fine lines and lacklustre skin. The characteristic colour of this oil makes it necessary to blend it with other base oils to reduce the intense colour (and add an extra boost to your skincare), so a little goes a long way - always perform a patch test before applying to the full face as different skin tones will require more or less of this oil.

Why Rosehip for hair care?

Adding a couple of drops of this to your hair oil can help to promote a clean healthy scalp as it promotes cell turn over, helping to reduce clogged pores and general build up that can lead to an itchy, inflamed scalp.

Organic Castor Oil

This little beauty deserves an honorary mention for its wide range of benefits in both skincare + hair care alike. We don't sell it on the website, and anyone whose worked with Castor oil will understand why; this oil is super, super thick, which makes it perfect for blending with other base oils in your natural skin/hair care, but makes it super tricky to pour into 50ml bottles. So to avoid unnecessary wasting of this luscious oil, we suggest buying it in bulkier bottles from a reputable supplier - like The Grape Tree or Holland and Barratt.

Why Castor Oil In Skincare?

Castor oil is first and foremost an Astringent oil, making it perfect for balancing out oily skin types. We use it in our Facial Cleanser to help balance sebum production, de-clog pores and take arms against break outs. It's part of why our cleanser is so effective in clearing away dirt and dead skin cells as you massage it over the skin, with it's thick sticky texture helping to create friction in an oil blend that would otherwise glide straight over pores

And Castor Oil for Haircare?

Again it is the astringent nature of castor oil that is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here (literally) as it helps to clear our the hair follicles, lifting dandruff from the scalp whilst its antibacterial + moisturising properties get to work. Mixed with a couple drops of Rosemary Essential oil (scientifically proven to stimulate hair growth) you've got a powerful combination to cleanse the scalp and promote natural new hair growth.

Organic Apricot + Sweet Almond Oil

Both lightweight oils that are readily absorbed into the skin, known for their nutritious and moisturising properties they make brilliant carrier oils to blend with your more targeted treatment oils.

Apricot oil for Mature or Inflamed skin

Apricots higher Vitamin A/E content and fast absorption rate make it preferable for mature or uneven skin types. It increases skins elasticity while promoting cell turn over for a natural balanced complexion

Almond oil for Dry, Itchy or Flaky Skin

Preferred for use in bath or body oils and a great all rounder, almond oil is highly moisturising, affordable and lightweight. Blend it with your preferred oils to bulk out any skincare recipe for a natural, moisturised glow

Organic Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn for Skincare

This oil is absolutely packed to the brim with nutrients. It gets its orange/reddish hue from the seeds of the Sea buckthorn plant from which it is extracted. Boasting high levels of Vitamin A, C + E, Omega 3,6,7 +9 fatty acids and anti-oxidants to fight free radicals, it is a powerful tonic for skin in need of a little extra TLC.

Perfect for those of us with dry, dull skin, it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and even out the skin tone, all the while adding an extra moisture boost to aging skin. You only need a couple of drops added to your daily skin care, as a little goes a long way with this potent healing oil

We've added it to our Herbal healing balm to harness its anti-inflammatory + anti-bacterial properties, which makes it perfect for problem areas of skin such and elbows, knees and feet

* A note on Retinol - Vitamin A is the natural precursor to over the counter retinols like tretinoin that we see in many skincare regimens today. Natural vitamin A works with the body to produce active retinol while topical retinols like tretinoin are inherently synthetic in nature and single out the active retinol molecule.

Not all of the oils sold on our website are Organic - always check the individual oil before purchase
