How to make your own healing herb bath
There are so many amazing reasons to want to mix up your own herb bath, and they’re not just confined to the beautiful aroma and spa like experience.
Making your own herbal infusion helps to release the herbs natural skin loving benefits, allowing you to literally cover yourself in the healing hands of nature.
Using natural ingredients that can be found in the garden
In this bath we’ve opted for Lavender + Rosemary. It’s one of our favourite herb blends and most people have it or can get their hands on them.
Lavender has been used for years for it healing properties for its ability to calm the senses and reduce the heart rate. While Rosemary, similarly anti-fungal and anti-microbal, has been shown to promote healthy hair growth and to improve shine.
This combination makes for a pretty powerful bath soak, and so I’m going to walk you through a few easy steps to making your own.
Making your Herb Bath
First off, your going to want to grab a fairly large pot from the kitchen; think soup for 5 size pot. A kettle, a big wooden spoon, and as much of those herbs you can get your hands on.
You’ll need to fill whatever size sauce pan you have half way to the top with these herbs - unless they’ve already been destalked, in which can you should be fine with a quarter full.
Bring your kettle to boil and fill the pot up about 2/3 centimeters from the top.
Once your herby concoction comes to boil, turn it down to simmer at a low heat for an hour or until the water has turned a earthy green colour.
(One thing to note! This process will infuse your kitchen with the aroma of the herbs, and while this is lovely, it might be worth cracking a window as it can be a bit intense for sensitive eyes and noses.)
What to do when the herb bath is ready
Once your herb bath is ready, it’s best to leave it on the side in a safe place for it to cool down before straining the herbs. This gives you a bita of time to run a bath, have a cup of tea, and get your spa experience ready!
Once cooled, strain into a sterilized kilner jair or similar, and pop the wet herbs into the compost. Now your herb bath is ready to use immediately, or you can save it for another day (just remember to keep it somewhere cool to prolong it life)

When your ready, add a cup or two to your bath while its running, sprinkle a few handfuls of natural salt into the bath, and sit back to relax in your new bath time experience.
We recommend pairing this with our lavender + Geranium soap and the bath + Body oil for a full, natural, nourishing cleanse.
