The Law Concerning Animal Testing : What you need to know

We often get asked whether we test our products on animals, so here’s the truth—and the law—on animal testing for cosmetics in the UK and EU.

Is Animal Testing for Cosmetics Legal in the UK and EU?

Since 2013 in the UK (and across the EU), it has been illegal to manufacture cosmetics that have been tested on animals, or to use any ingredients that, at any stage of their development, were tested on animals. This means any cosmetic product made in the UK or EU will be cruelty-free by law.

However, not all countries share these regulations. Some require, by law, that imported cosmetics undergo animal testing before they can be sold there. This is why we carefully review the import regulations of every country we ship to—ensuring none of our products are ever tested on animals.

Our Cruelty-Free Commitment at Wild Sage

At Wild Sage, we will never use ingredients that have been tested on animals, nor will we test our finished products on animals. We believe beauty should be kind, inside and out. That’s why we happily test all our products on ourselves—because if we wouldn’t use them, why should anyone else?
